APG professionals have been providing complete incentive travel services to clientele nationwide since 1987. 1951 - Louis Some, a top seller of insurance founded the Some Insurance Agency in Newark, NJ along with two of his sons.
1960 - Some's Travel is established within the insurance agency to sell vacations to individuals. Within a few months, travel sales outperform insurance sales. The agency is relocated to Irvington, NJ and renamed to Some's Travel.
1968 - Some's Travel has 6 locations and is one of the fastest growing travel companies in New Jersey. With the passing of Louis, Richard Some is named president of the company.
1969 - Group Travel International (referred to as GTI) was formed within Some's Travel to promote and sell group travel and also charters to Las Vegas, Rio de Janeiro and other exciting destinations.
1982 - GTI's headquarters is relocated to East Hanover, NJ, and the company is now operating as Group Travel Incentives to reflect the focus of the company now being corporate incentive travel.
1987 - Having helped such Fortune 1000 corporations as IBM, ADP, and others, Andy Some joins GTI and brings his marketing expertise to a broad array of new clients including Rolls Royce, Scott Paper, Ziff Davis Publishing and many more.
1994 - GTI becomes Incentive Connections Inc. (ICI) and relocates to Parsippany, NJ.
2004 - Navigant Performance Group (NPG), the meeting planning and incentive division of Navigant Int'l, acquires ICI. The acquisition doubles the size of NPG and results in office locations in Marlboro MA, Parsippany NJ and Minneapolis, MN.
2006 - Carlson Companies, one of the largest private companies in the US, acquires Navigant Int'l. As a result of this acquisition, NPG becomes part of the Carlson Marketing Worldwide division. Richard Some retires.
2009 - Andy Some establishes Accelerated Performance Group, LLC (APG Travel). Combining Fortune 1000 experience with outstanding creativity and excellent service results in a new era of fulfilling the need for performance improvement. Offerings include incentive travel, corporate meetings and specialized travel for groups.
